Are You Ready for "Disaster Rock"?

When you are tired of the same old Rock and Roll routines played out on stages night after night, then you are ready for “Disaster Rock”. If you want music to be dangerous again and you don’t care what must be destroyed to do it, then you are ready for “Disaster Rock”. If you feel that dionysian urge, deep down in your gut, pushing you closer and closer to the edge, then you are most defiantly ready for “Disaster Rock”.

“Disaster Rock” is not a genre, it is the return of that, “anything can happen vibe” our digital age has sucked out of our music. “Disaster Rock” is the last nail in the coffin of our click track, auto tuned nightmares and pre-packed pop clichés foisted upon a public that hasn't felt anything in so long that they have forgotten what it’s like loose control.

“Disaster Rock” is the place where accidents happen and mistakes mistakes are made, it’s the soundtrack to complete mental breakdowns, its the impetus for spiritual breakthroughs, it’s the return of the flawed performer putting real emotion before the act of being cool, it’s in the bedroom of the kid fumbling through the opening riff of "Smoke on the Water" and it is on the page in front of you, all you have to do is reach out, grab hold and enjoy the ride.

The Summer Aggressive

I’ve been walking angry for about a week
Head held high with disregard for the feelings of other’s
Lost in a cocoon of disrespect for the human condition

“You don’t mean anything to me”

Maybe my misanthropic tendencies are natural
The product of too many years in the gutter
(Otherwise known as Winnipeg)

“I don’t see you and you don’t see me”

It could be a reaction to the truth I have observed
in the bars and on the street. Over and over again,
I get the feeling that the douche bags are winning

“If you can’t beat them, join me”

WINNIPEG'D

This was after the night of the party. The one when we showed up just as everybody was leaving. The one where we hung out with the Hostess until 3 am. You know, the one where we entertained the Hostess’s cats and talked about Winnipeg.

Like I said, this was the next day when I was walking around downtown, with a gunshot wound to the gut, blood soaking through my nice white shirt. All the wile wondering, what is this place? What is it’s purpose? What is my place in it?

There I was walking around downtown, the hole in my gut leaving a trail of crimson bread crumbs so I could find my way home but I didn’t want to go home. My head was full of questions and all the whole city was saying, “This is the kind of place where big personalities go to die.” The whole god damned city was saying, “This is the kind of place that the terminally insecure can call home.”

This was one of those days when the sky was grey. And the streets were covered in garbage. And the toothless mad men were bumming cigarettes, asking passers by for spare change. And the hole in my gut was whispering to me, repeating the same phrase over and over again, it was saying that “this is the breeding ground for infamy.”
